Anchor Investors in SME IPO

SME IPO Anchor Investors are large institutional investors that invest a minimum of Rs 1 crore in an IPO. The SME anchors play an important role in an IPO to boost investor confidence and trust in the company.
Generally, SME IPOs are considered risky as they are new business with low experience. The minimum investment amount is also higher and SME companies have lesser volatility and liquidity. Thus, retail investors feel reluctant to invest and block funds. However, when anchor investors anchor their funds in a company it increases the company’s credibility and inspires retail investors to invest in the company increasing SME IPO demand.
