List of Mutual Funds in India

Read Time:29 Minute, 12 Second

In India, a significant portion of the population is shifting their investment ways towards mutual funds.

Traditional methods of investment such as gold, real estate, bank deposits, etc., are slowly losing their popularity. The main reason behind mutual funds garnering attention as a popular investment vehicle is due to its ability to generate higher returns when compared to the conventional methods of investment such as the ones mentioned above.

According to industry experts, the mutual fund industry in India has a huge growth potential and as on 30 November 2018, manages assets worth Rs.24,03,134 crore. The AUM (Assets Under Management) of the industry has grown by six fold in a span of 10 years and this growth is expected to continue in the coming years.

News About List of Mutual Funds in India

Stocks of Emami, Voltas, Whirlpool, etc., expected to yield returns of 15% to 34% in 2019

2018 would have seen negative returns if it were not for the up move witnessed in the last 2 months of the year when there was a gain of 3% recorded by the Nifty50 index. In the meantime, the BSE small cap and mid cap indices saw a decline of 23.5% and 13.4% respectively. The reasons cited behind the benchmark indices turning positive were the fall in the prices of crude oil, the appreciation in the rupee, and the cut in the interest rates. Experts predict that the year 2019 will be favorable for the mid cap and small cap segment with expected returns in the range of 15% to 34%. A majority of stocks in these segment are likely to show a growth in their earnings. The stocks that are expected to yield satisfactory returns in 2019 include Akzo Nobel India (21%), Emami (22%), Indraprastha Gas (20%), Rallis India (25%), Teamlease Services (15%), Voltas (27%), Whirlpool India (22%), City Union Bank (22%), Jyothy Laboratories (20%), Ramco Cement (19%), Somany Ceramics (27%), India Glycols (28%), and Uflex (34%).
